In 1993, I had the incredible opportunity to work on a golf course project led by Gary Player. For someone who grew up in an agrarian, construction, and design background, it was the perfect mix of design, soil science, and hands-on work. That project not only challenged me but also opened my eyes to a new way of thinking about the work I loved. It ultimately inspired me to start Perfect Play Fields and Links.

Since then, our journey has taken us far beyond that first project, expanding from golf course construction to athletic fields for Division 1 universities, the MLB, MiLB, and NFL, each presenting its own unique challenges and opportunities. Along the way, I have been fortunate to learn from industry leaders like Dr. Brad Fresenburg, whose guidance deepened my understanding of turfgrass, natural fields, and soil science. His mentorship and the continual drive to stay ahead of the game have been a cornerstone of how we approach every project.

What truly sets Perfect Play apart is our team. Every person brings dedication, skill, and pride to their work, helping us achieve excellence in every field we touch. Our team is comprised of true turf experts who have managed and maintained professional fields throughout the most demanding times of play. There is no question that our industry requires a great deal of hard physical labor, and I have deep respect for those who don’t back down and make it happen. Where we are today is a testament to the incredible talent, curiosity, and commitment of our team. I am proud of what we have built together and excited for the continued innovation, collaboration, and growth that lies ahead.
